Your (space) mission

As the Electronics Engineer at cosine you play a key role in developing the electronic subsystems that power, connect and control advanced optical payloads for space missions. You translate system requirements into reliable electronic designs and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to bring hardware from concept through integration and verification. By combining technical expertise with a pragmatic engineering approach, you help deliver mission-critical electronics that enable Earth observation, environmental monitoring, defense-related remote sensing and planetary science missions.

Tasks & responsibilities

In this role you will:
  • Define and develop electronic subsystems and architectures for optical payloads, translating system requirements into robust hardware designs, interfaces and technical specifications
  • Take ownership of electronic subsystem developments throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with systems, optical, mechanical and software engineers
  • Drive procurement and supplier interactions for electronic components, assemblies and subsystems, including technical alignment, trade-off analyses and make-or-buy assessments
  • Support integration, verification and environmental testing activities, ensuring electronic hardware meets performance, reliability and mission requirements
  • Contribute to technical reviews, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives across development projects

Your profile

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, avionics, aerospace engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in electronics development for aerospace, space, defense or other high-reliability applications
  • Experience designing, developing and validating electronic hardware such as power electronics, mixed-signal electronics, control electronics, sensor interfaces or data handling systems
  • Familiarity with supplier management, procurement processes and industrialization of electronic hardware
  • Ability to prepare and review technical documentation such as specifications, interface control documents and verification plans
  • A proactive and pragmatic engineering mindset, with strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in multidisciplinary teams
